Sample Turnsheets

For each of the Sample Characters, here can be found a sample Turnsheet, which is intended as an example of how you could go about writing a Turnsheet. More details about Turnsheets can be found here. For broader ideas on how you can engage with the world, see the Ways To Play page.

This example sees Elissa focusing on dealing with a plague outbreak in Tekhayana, while also inadvertently furthering Maeran control over more areas of the region.

I want to treat and contain a bout of plague in rural Tekhayana.

1. I will arrive and immediately seek out the nearest medical institution. If need be, I will take charge and ensure that the plague does not spread further.
2. Using my contacts in Tarqus, I will establish a steady stream of medical supplies into these villages, to ensure they have the resources necessary to avoid such an outbreak again.
3. I want to meet with Magister Gaia (given this village falls within her domain) to discuss what preventative measures can be taken to guarantee containment of plague in future.
4. I then wish to submit a report of my activities to the medical commission in Tarqus and try to petition for greater Maeran medical presence in Tekhayana in future. I will also mention Magister Gaia in the report, acknowledging how useful (or not) they were to me.

• I want to sample the signature dish of Tekhayana while I'm there.
• I will make a note of any wildlife that I think might be carrying plague.

• Elissa doesn't realise that she's basically enabling Maeran colonisation. While if she reflected, I don't think she would agree with what's happening here, she's showing a level of complicity and ignorance to Maeran actions that I think could be interesting to push in the Turnsheet, and come back to bite her—especially in the Telling section, depending on whose POV it's from (particularly from a Tekhayan perspective).
• I think Elissa is intrigued by Magister Gaia already—it feels like there could be a very interesting dynamic between the two.

This example sees Sarana producing a piece of pottery based on their memories of an encounter with a sailor from Hen Eibar.

I want to make something reminds me of the sailor, who told me about an island where the number of puffins outnumber humans tens of thousands to one (Skalmar).

1. Historically the eastern islands of Bahlong have always had close ties to Hen Eibar. Given tensions are so high currently with the growing raids, I want to make something that reminds me and the people in my village of the camraderie we once shared with those who frequent our shores.
2. It's been a decade since I last met this sailor, but I recall enough of what he told me that I will try to recreate the island he spoke so fondly of from memory.
3. I will craft a finely wrought pot and then adorn it with images of people from Bahlong visiting this island of puffins for the first time.
4. I want to inspire joy and hope again in people, if I can. Such things are in such short supply of late.

• I will check in on my next door neighbour—I know one crew of Hen Eibari were hassling them at some point.
